Since the last couple of years, I've taken an intense liking to online courses. They offer a wide range of subjects, coupled with the flexiblity of learning at your own pace (granted we meet the assignment deadlines). They have always reached beyond conventional coursework and have provided me with a practical perspective of the subjects.

Introduction to the Internet of Things (online offering by Stanford University). (July 2018)
1. An introductory view to the prevelance, need and the variety of applications of sensors, embedded systems and connectivity
2. Deeper insights into how to read spec sheets and choose sensors wisely; according to operation scenarios.
3. Energy harvesting mechanisms to eliminate use of the more bulky alkaline batteries. (dev rate of batteries is 2x in 10 yr span which is too slow given the rate at which preocessors and sensor tech is improving). View Certificate
Real Time Operating Systems from NPTEL (IIT Kharagpur). (Feb - March 2018)
1. A theoretical perspective into the evolution of operating systems
2. Comparative study on the various static and dynamic scheduling algorithms; their trade-offs and efficiency
3. Provivded a comprehensive view on the limitations and application specific orientations and approach towards building a robust operating system in tight memory constrained systems. View Certificate
C++: A General Purpose Language and Library Jump- Start from Microsoft Virtual Academy. (May 2017)
1. This course provided a quick overview of best practices in writing code efficiently.
2. There was a brief touch up and revision of syntax, semantics and the control flow statements of C++ followed by common logical errors made by programmers.
3. It also provided an introduction to the template class and vectors. View Certificate
